I’ve said it before, and I’ll say it again: I am a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. I love it, and I do my best to live it day to day. What does that mean though? More importantly, what does that mean to me?
I believe that we are all children of a Heavenly Father, a being who loves us more than anyone can comprehend and is more than willing to express and show that love to us, and does so, every day, every moment that we are alive. I believe that he sent us here to learn and to grow and to make the choices necessary to return back to Him one day, and live with Him forever.
I believe in Jesus Christ, that he came to earth to live among men, and that while on Earth he set a perfect example for us to follow, marked that path, and then chose to die for all of us. For each of us individually. That because He did that, each of us can find peace and joy in this life and overcome all the trials and mistakes that we have made and will continute to make.
I believe that the true Church of Christ was restored through the prophet Joseph Smith and that because of the decision of a 14 year old boy to go beyond the understanding of men, and to ask God with the humility and faith to recieve an answer, that we were shown the Book of Mormon – Another testament of Jesus Christ- and that the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is the only church on earth today with all of God’s authority to act today. I believe that Joseph Smith was called to be the first prophet of these latter-days, of these times, and that that line of prophets remains unbroken today, and is continued in one Thomas S. Monson, whom I fully and wholeheartedly sustain as the current president of the Church today, and I sustain and follow the other 14 men who serve as living apostles- as prophets, seers and revelators.
That’s the essence to a lot of it. Honestly, I could spend tons of time writing about that and what I believe, but I think that’ll suffice, atleast for now.
